Check out that smile … Matt really seems to be having a great time. He seems up for almost anything whether it is attending a charitable event; hosting a talk show or participating in a sports activity. He gives so freely of his precious time to his fans and always seems grateful to be in the situation that he finds himself in. His parents have to be so proud. As he has said “They raised him right.”
It is nice to see him relax and be himself. I hope he has some opportunity to unwind and be with his family before he jumps back into his next project. Truly wish him well and can’t wait for White Collar to return this winter.
Thanks to Kelly for keeping us informed!

Firstly I hate football! Now I have lost all credibility concerning my next comment: I hate what that announcer said about Matt near the end of the game. What a JERK! Who was that anyway?
I don’t know why Matt bothers to do such good things out there and I don’t know why ugly announcers feel they have to say something negative about one of the nicest guys on the planet.
I am riled up about now.

Yes especially since Matt was one of the best athletes on the field who was not a professional athlete or an actor who played college ball.

Matt Bomer played well and looked good on the field. I think he’s reallly happy to be there and played with the football celebrities.
I agree, he’s been really nice to his fans and one of the best athletes on the field. Hip Hip Hooray for Matt!

Missed it, what did the announcer say?

I didn’t get to watch this as I’m from another country… So really hoping the video will be available online.

Oh dear, what did the announcer say?

The announcer was a jerk and said “that was a bomehead move”.
PS: I’ll post captures and a video clip tomorrow. I had 2 shows to watch tonight, so I didn’t get it finished in time.

Why is a January 18th appearance airing in august? Is it a repeat?

Well, I logged on this morning to see who you thought this announcer is and I was going to write to him but…..I have calmed down now and realize that is a bit irational. I’m sure he is only a man who wishes he could play football, wishes he looked that good doing anything and wishes he could be as nice a person as Matt always is. Rant over.

The announcer was a bit of a bonehead himself.
When they explained the scoring rules I was like WTF? Who the hell came up with those? There were so many ways to score different points that it was hard to keep them in front of me when I was watching, never mind if I was in the game playing it.
Dan Marino basically ran the equivalent of the hurry-up offense, calling three plays all at once in their final drive. If I remember correctly, the Famers were down 13 points. For the Famers to have a chance at the 12 point touchdown, after catching the ball Matt would have had to either run out of bounds or allowed himself to be stopped so the team could run another offensive play. That’s counterintuitive to what you would do in a normal football game with conventional scoring. In a regular football game you’d do what Matt did, which is to catch the ball midfield, evade the tackle, and run it into the end zone for 6 points. I bet most of the pros would have done the same because that’s what their training and experience has conditioned them to do, and if one of them had done it I doubt that the announcer would have called it a “boneheaded move”.
Matt played well. He scored a couple of touchdowns, tossed a three point conversion to Kurt Warner, and played as well as Ryan McPartlin who the announcers fussed over for having played college football. And Matt also played well at defense. Some of the other players seemed to forget altogether that defense is the other half of football.

@ Melissa – totally agree. I also think it rude that since it was taped, they could have deleted the line the announcer used.

Yes, it’s just a repeat.

The guy was just plain rude! Matt made some very good plays and as for the others being fussed over because of college football, hellsbells, Matt is from a football family and played for a good portion of his life. The announcer was not only rude, but completely uninformed! Okay, I’m done!
