@Rob You're right about his publicist, she is incredible, not just with this, but everything. I can't imagine how she could be doing a better job.

How can anyone not love that man? Seriously.

I love that he's a good 'ol Texas boy and wishes to keep his private life secret, even though most of his fans already know and still love him ;)

And a play??? *squee*

This was a wonderful interview with Matt and gives beautiful insight into the core of this honest and creative soul. It is obvious that he was raised in a carrying and loving family and that he continues to hold himself to a high level of personal values. Ernest Hemingway coined the phrase “grace under pressure” to describe having guts. I think it perfectly describes Matt Bomer and his position on not publicizing the details of his private and be it very personal life. He politely and eloquently states that his family is deeply important to him and that he doesn’t find it fair to pull them into the eyes of public scrutiny. While Matt has many devoted fans that support him with kind and complimentary remarks, the public can also be very cruel and judgmental. Just step away from this sight and read some of the hateful comments that are posted. As a fan, I respect his desire to maintain his private life.

I think over time he will share more. If you look at the articles over the course of this year, there is a steady progression. He has a very good publicist who knows her business and is handling this very smartly.

I still think it would be preferable if he felt he could share some details about his personal life, and there seems to be quite a bit of rationalizing there as to why he prefers not to. But I completely understand where he's coming from and respect what he's saying, and obviously he must do what he's comfortable with right now. The world still needs to change though, so that someone in Matt's position has the full range of choices with regard to what they do and do not talk about.
